Welcome to Wild Voices for Kids!

Wild Voices for Kids (WVFK) is an environmental and heritage education program that provides students with FREE curriculum-based presentations and field trips by local experts (Community Educators, or CEs) on the land, history and culture of the Columbia Basin region. The program inspires stewardship and a conservation ethic by promoting an understanding of ecosystems and environmental issues, and providing opportunities for students to directly experience ecologically and culturally significant areas in their own back yards.

The program is guided by the following objectives:

  • Assist teachers to reach their curriculum goals in engaging and innovative ways;
    •                
  • Provide every Columbia Basin student with at least one environmental or heritage education program each school year;
    •              
  • Create informed decision-making youth and inspire future stewardship initiatives;
    •              
  • Connect schools, teachers and students with Community Educators;
    •                
  • Create casual employment and mentoring opportunities for Community Educators.

Each year, thousands of students get to enjoy a Wild Voice.  We hope your students will participate too.
